Manchester Lorna Hastings 1st Open Dog/Bitch
BEST OF BREED
Strong masculine dog with correct square outline, proper medium size, substance and proportions. Neck well set on defined withers, maintained a level top-line both statically and kinetically, well sprung rib, ample depth and breadth of chest. Correct harsh straight very dense outer coat of sand colour, the best jacket on the day. Good blunt wedge shaped head with correct flat top skull with appropriate definition, pleasing dark eye with dark rims, good dark lips and nose pigment, correctly placed ear with rounded tip and protective hair inside broad base. Tail set on high would have preferred a better tail carriage. Alert to his environment, gaited energetically around the ring although a little distracted at times, exceptionally well presented in good condition and handled to advantage.

Most beautiful masculine head with an expression to die for in dark well shaped eyes, squarely built, strong & so well balanced, holds himself with justifiable pride, all the parts fit firmly into the whole with well angulated shoulders & hindquarters, in best of coat & condition, the excellence of confirmation is mirrored in sound energetic ground covering movement. Masculine dog that filled the standard for me. He has a look of Lehitrot Me Shaar Haggi and I was interested to find his dam is from this kennel. He is just reaching maturity and has great quality. Good front. Super topline and tailset, good spring of rib. Enough tuck up. Depth of brisket to elbow.

Sand dog with attractive square and balanced outline, which has immediate appeal from the start. Attractive head and expression. Coat is excellent in full winter jacket with desired winter undercoat and correct topcoat texture. Excellent neck set on and correct fore and rear quarters, good bone medium build throughout. Level topline, well ribbed back and short strong loin, very good feet, pasterns could strengthen a bit more, but when moved at a correct speed had typical movement. Excellent quality. 2 years old. This dog impressed very much for his well shaped head, dark almond shaped eye and well set ears. Clean front and shoulder. Square outline with high set and well carried tail. His movement is true holding a very good topline. When settled in the Group gave a very good account of himself and a credit to the breed.

My first of the breed to get my hands on and I was pleasantly surprised, square shaped outline, with well proportioned wedge shaped head, good ear carriage and with tight lips, moderately arched neck, with good front angulation, straight forelegs, deep chest with a good tuck up, moderate hindquarters, permitting a no nonsense style of movement covering the ground in a controlled trot.

This 12 month old sand coloured Canaan appealed to me greatly for his breed type, balance and complete lack of exaggeration. He has very good overall conformation and presented a most attractive profile picture with his square outline and firm level back. He also has just the right amount of neck and his tail is well set on and carried. He moves well both in winning his class on the day and in the final. His head is nicely shaped with good planes and proportions, but his ears are set on a bit too high and could be a little wider at their base and it was this that told against him in the final. Even so, a Canaan of the highest quality and a worthy ambassador for the breed.
